According to Nona Troper Shafran, Rose moved to San Francisco after Clarence was born and returned to NY after the earthquake of 1906.

In the 1910 Census, Rose was living with her father, Emanuel, and her son, Clarence. According to the 1920 Census, Rose and Clarence were living with Rose's sister, Jennie, and Morris Knobel. Rose's occupation was shown in the 1930 Census as a domestic. She was shown as married in the 1910 Census, but widowed in the 1920 Census.1,11,12,3
