Notes
- Ray began teaching in the early 1900s, but didn't like teaching. She had higher ambitions to be a principal or a writer. It was mandatory that she resign teaching when she married. Her marriage to Joseph Zindler was an unhappy one which ended in divorce. After the divorce, Ray lived with her sister Helen for a short time and with her sister Madeline for a short time.
According to the "Proof of Albert Rosenlicht Will," in March, 1932, Ray, Pearl, Dolly, George, Eddie, Sidney and Marty all lived at 5413 17th Avenue, Brooklyn, New York.
According to the 1905 NY State Census, Ray was a patient at the Manhattan State Hospital on Ward's Island a psychiatric institution.4
