- Gertie was in the hospital for a heart attack and had an out of body
experience - after being revived she repeated everything that was said as they were working on her. She called Moe and Essie and told them about this and said that she was calling to say goodbye. One week later she had another heart attack that she died from.
According to the 1920 Census, Gertie's occupation was listed as bookkeeper. The 1930 Census says that her father was born in Russia and her mother was born in England.
