Notes

  • Moe was a photographer during World War I.  He lost a lot of the photos when he was hospitalized with a war-related injury, but the family still has plenty of his WWI photos from Europe - including one he took of Woodrow Wilson when he was in Paris for the peace conference.

After the War, Moe worked for Western Union for 50 years. His job was to review and interpret all new regulations issued by the FCC and then prepare memos so that all in the company would know about the regulations.  Moe was up for a big promotion where he would have headed up the New York office but there was some sort of merger and someone from another office in another state was given the position instead.

Moe is listed in the 1900 Census as Moses.

According to the 1920 Census, Moe was living with his mother, Fannie, and his siblings Gertrude and Benjamin, at 1231 51st Street, Brooklyn, New York (Gertrude and Benjamin were mistakenly listed as his children).  Moe's profession was listed as clerk of a telegraph company.
